VII. Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files that can be sent to your browser when you visit a website and stored on your device. These files identify specific information from previous visits to the website. Cookies cannot scan your computer or other devices or read data stored on them.
As a data subject, you are not obliged to provide any personal data (except for personal data resulting from necessary cookies). Other types of cookies (marketing, analytical and statistical) are used exclusively on a voluntary basis after granting your consent.
Under Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 of the Collection on Electronic Communications (ZEK – Zbierka zákonov o elektronických komunikáciách), anyone who stores or gains access to information stored in a user's terminal equipment is entitled to do so only if the user concerned has given demonstrable consent. The obligation to obtain consent does not apply to law enforcement authorities and other state authorities. This does not prevent the technical storage of data or access to them, the sole purpose of which is to transmit or facilitate the transmission of a message over a network, or if this is strictly necessary for the provider of information company services to provide the information company service explicitly requested by the user.
Therefore, the Translator may use necessary cookies without your consent in accordance with the last sentence of the cited provision of the “ZEK”, and the Translator may use other cookies (in this case, marketing cookies and statistical cookies) only on the basis of your demonstrable consent.
a) Strictly necessary cookies
Necessary cookies are cookies that ensure exclusively a proper technical functioning of the website and increase the comfort of the website visitor, and which do not process any personal data of website visitors and their sole purpose is to transmit or facilitate the transmission of a message over the network.
The Translator uses the following necessary cookies, which do not require your consent:
| Cookie name | Transfer to a third country/Purpose of processing | Retention period |
fe_typo_user; cookieconsent_status (technical cookies used to store user choices regarding cookies) | These data are not shared with third parties./Store browser details and language settings | session |
If the aforementioned necessary cookies also contained personal data, the Translator will process them based on its legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, which is the transmission or facilitation of the transmission of a message over a network, and the legitimate interest in processing personal data stored in cookies that are necessary for the operation of the website pursuant to Section 109(8) of the “ZEK.”
b) Non-essential cookies
The Translator uses the following cookies for which your consent is required, namely statistical cookies and marketing cookies. The purpose of statistical (analytical) cookies is to enable the website operator to process and store information about website traffic and the use of its functions. Marketing cookies record which specific sections of the website were visited and for how long. Each visit to the website is thus (after consent has been granted) associated with the storage of specific information about the website visitor that he provided during such a visit.
Not granting consent to the use of statistical cookies and/or marketing cookies has no impact on the functionality of the website.
Consent is also required for any processing of personal data contained in cookies, pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 49(1)(a) GDPR, as such a transfer of personal data to a third country (in particular the USA) does not provide safeguards for the protection of personal data adequate to EU standards. Such a transfer of cookies to the USA is therefore risky and, in order for it to take place, it is necessary for the data subject to express their explicit consent to the proposed transfer.
By consenting to the processing of marketing cookies and/or statistical cookies, you also express your consent pursuant to Article 49(1)(a) of the GDPR, and therefore, as a visitor to the website, you have been duly informed and advised of the risks associated with such transmission and you acknowledge them, as these risks may impose a threat due to the absence of adequate safeguards otherwise guaranteed by the EU law.
Only with your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 109(8) of the Personal Data Act and, in the case of transfer to the USA, pursuant to Article 49(1)(a) GDPR, does the Translator use the following cookies:
| Cookie name | Source | Transfer to a third country | Purpose of processing | Retention period |

Most internet browsers are initially set to automatically accept cookies. You can change this setting by blocking cookies or by being notified when cookies are to be sent to your device. However, if you change the cookie settings, some websites may have limited functionality and reduced user comfort.
